Our blog is going to be center in Matucana. We are going to show all what Matucana offersto you. It is a good destination to get away from a tiring week of work in Lima, you can camp there, enjoy the nature and of course its delicious food.

DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA,

The area is a green land, of 1800 m x 500m2. It is similar to a very irregular. And here you can find a lot of beautiful touristic attractions

     Lagunas gemelas de Orcococha, etc.

 LOCATION

Matucana is located to the East of Lima at 2,378 m (7,802 ft) above sea level, along the Central Road at 74 km.

 

CLIMATE

The weather is dry and warm. It is important to know when in Lima is cold, in Matucana is hot.

HOW TO REACH

You can get there only by bus, or by car. If you go by bus you have to take 3 different buses, First, directly to Santa Anita Oval (roundabout) , then other to Chosica (1hr 30min), and there, you take the last one that is going to take you Matucana District (1hr 30min): in total you do 3 hrs of road time.

If you are going in your own car, of course you take all the way long till 75km of Carretera Central and you get there, it is very easy!

HOTEL INDUSTRY IN MATUCANA

You will find some hostels near to the main square of Matucana. The majority of hostels haven’t got private bathroom. Some of them, there are telephones and garages.

The price of the hotels is 20 or 30 soles per night.

It´s possible to camp, so have to request information on Matucana serenazgo in the main square.

Touristic Places

Antankallo Falls 
Antankallo waterfalls has a beautiful landscape, which we walk along a wide path of 1.50 m wide, it’s located at about 50 minutes away from the city. This cascade has an altitude of 20 meters. The "cascade of friendship", as they often call it, is just a few hours away from Lima, and it is undoubtedly one of the most important tourist attractions in this department.

While the peasants knew it was released to tourism by Prof. Miryam Olivera Canicela in 1990 when he took the first group of tourists (10 heads of boy scouts). Today on long weekends to get over 2000 visitors.

Central Park
Among the most attractive places to visit in Matucana are undoubtedly the Independence Park or "Ricardo Bentin" which in the decade of the twentieth century 1990 suffered a major modification.

The Municipal Stadium of Matucana

Matucana, has a magnificent Regulatory Stadium, with grass, mesh Olympic and  dressing rooms. It was built by the Province Mayor Antonio León Aliaga with the valuable assistance of the Chairman of the House of Representatives Dr. Javier Ortiz de Zevallos. It was solemnly opened on July 28, 1966.

Matucana Municipal Stadium is the home stadium of Club Atletico Minero, a team that came to participate in the First professional Division of soccer in the 2008 Championship. Unfortunately it fell and now it participates in the second Division of Peru.

Orcococha Laguna Encantada [Twin Ponds]

This currently is a small reservoir that appears to consist of two twin lakes, for the distribution of irrigation water. The water comes from the Ark Lake. The view is great and occasionally you can see condors. In the proper season are the snowy peaks ahead. The fascination of this gap are the legends about their origin. They can be taken as a starting point to get Ark Lake.

Matucana don`t have traditional food like other parts of Perú

What we can find at restaurants of the zone is traditional Andes' food like:

or very simple menus like fried chicken, rice, noodles, etc.

People in Matucana have fields of apple and quince.

We can find different activities in Matucana, specially talking about Adventure Sports.

Sports:

Matucana is known as a good place to do different activities, like trekking, camping. Is  a place where you can relax, and enjoy nature.

Going in group of friends, family, or with your couple.

Natural places you can visit in Matucana are: 

• Cascadas de Huariquiña, between 70 and 73 km at Central Highway
• Arca  lagoon at 4650msnm, at the east of the city, you have to walk 10 hours since Marachanca, it is a really hard activity
• Catarata of Antakallo, placed at 2 hours from the town center.

Religious Activities

24 of June

They celebrate the festivity of San Juan Bautista, or Fiesta de San Juan and San Juanito, both, patrons of Matucana, they celebrate this day with fireworks the Eve (23 of June). on 24 there is a  mass in the main Church of San Juan Bautista. They drink, eat and dance with San Francisco de Sunicancha  and Melodies from Sunicancha Band Orchestra

Touristic Project

Matucana is a beautiful place... we can find some restaurants, hotels but we can’t find any disco, karaoke or Pub; for that reason we want to create a karaoke for people who look to spend fun time in contact with different people, to sing, dance and interact with others.

This will be the first and unique Karaoke in this zone and the tourists that visit this place will find an entertained place.

 This Karaoke will improve the economy of this zone, because it will bring jobs to people who live in this region

     It will contribute to the environment

o   Waste Disposal:

To clean and protect the health we should eliminate sanitary wastes as garbage cans at the following locations: living room, kitchen, and other outdoor areas.

o       Recycling:
The waste will be divided into organic, inorganic, plastic, glass for other uses and  these residues can be recycled for raw materials and perform other functions.

Matucana continues  improving so a karaoke contributes to tourism

The advantage is that Matucana is a region where the people don’t like noise, because it is a small place and they prefer quite activities.

But we will educate the community and explain to them that karaoke is not a place so busy like a disco.

Having a karaoke will be another good reason to visit Matucana.

Our services:

• We will offer different types of drinks like Pisco Sour, Perú Libre, Piña Colada, Beer, and food like tequeños, nuggets, Buffalo wings in good prices.

• We are going to have different types of music, like classic songs, bladas, merengues, pop, etc. The client, will give the list of their songs, after them ask for drinks are food

•    We will have waiters (women), security man, cashier, and a cooker for the kitchen.

• The Karaoke will have 6 tables for 4 people each one, all of them near a big TV Screen, so they can see the letters of the songs without difficulty.
